Upgraded GALs

An upgraded set of GALs is now available for the DivIDE Plus.

These incorporate several improvements (mainly bug fixes), but will also allow you to install esxDOS.

The latest version of esxDOS (v.0.8.5) can now be downloaded from:

http://velesoft.speccy.cz/other/divide_ ... lasher.zip

This requires the upgraded GAL chips (already installed if you purchased your DivIDE Plus from us after January 2013)

Manual for installation ESXDOS to DIVIDE PLUS:
- press keys "x","0" = erase first 64kB block of flash eprom chip
- press keys "w","0" = write 16kB block (contain 2x esxdos) to 16kB rom page 0
- press keys "w","1" = write 16kB block (contain 2x esxdos) to 16kB rom page 1
- press "z" = exit to zx basic. Now is ESXDOS 080 installed as main system

Dear Rich,

I've just bought a DivIDE Plus from a fellow Spectrum enthusiast. It has the firmware selector and five different firmwares (plus ZX BASIC), including esxDOS, installed.

esxDOS (v0.8.0) works, so I suppose it has the latest, upgraded GALs.

Can I use this .TAP to update just esxDOS, without losing the selector and the other firmwares? (I am somewhat worried, because I don't have the equipment to backup/restore the contents of PLCC EEPROMs...)

Yes, just use the .tap file linked to above to update the esxDOS version on the DivIDE Plus to v.0.8.5 - all of the other firmwares will remain installed.

You may also wish to consider obtaining the Firmware Selector, which allows you to easily switch between firmwares, and will also remember which firmware you used last on the DivIDE Plus.
