HxC Floppy Disk Emulator

Post by RWAP » Sun Feb 22, 2015 9:28 pm

A couple of our customers have asked about upgrading the firmware on the HxC Floppy Disk Emulator.

Up until now, we have sold a stock of RevC HxC floppy emulators - these lack the SRAM of the later models, and so the last firmware which can be used on them is v1.7.2.7.
We have however, been unable to find that particular version of the firmware.

We have therefore packaged v1.7.2.0 together with the updated bootloader which is required to install this.

You will need to format your SD Card first - in Windows do not use Quick Format, as this may not quite format the SD card fully (!) and store the updated bootloader on the card (nothing else). Then press the left and right buttons whilst you power up the HxC and keep them pressed down for about 1 second after it starts up.

Once the new bootloader is installed the middle and right LEDs will flash alternately - you are now ready to install the latest firmware.

You can then use Quick format on the SD card this time and put the firmware .upd file on the card, and again press the left and right buttons on the HxC when you power up and keep them pressed for about 1 second. The new firmware should then be installed.
