As not all games are freely available on the internet for download and playing on your Spectrum equipped with the DivIDE Plus, it can be useful to be able to create snapshots of games.
You may also want this, so that you can return to a game at a later point to get further through the levels.
The best way of doing this, is to install ResiDOS complete with the Task Manager package.
Once done, you can load your game in the usual way and then when you wish to make a snapshot, press the NMI button which loads Task Manager.
Press S to make a snapshot, and you will be prompted to enter a filename for the snapshot.
It is imperative that you enter the name of the file ending in .z80 - otherwise you will find that you cannot re-load the snapshot.
Once saved onto the compact flash card (or hard disk) using this method, when you restart the Spectrum the file can be loaded from ResiDOS using the %snapshot "name.z80" command.
You can also use FATware to navigate to the file and load it into the Spectrum - although, for some reason, we have found that not all snapshots created by ResiDOS will load through FATware - in which case, use the %snapshot command provided by ResiDOS.
